10 For ‘10: A list of bands you need to know in 2010
10 For ‘10: Straight Up Random’s pick of 10 signed and 10 unsigned bands you need to know in 2010!

Who? Artist Vs Poet
Why? Following in the footsteps of their pop rock predecessors by making fast-paced pop tunes with catchy choruses, Artist Vs Poet are bound to be the next pop rock sensation from this scene. If you want a taste as to what their full-length album will be like, which is coming out in 2010, just listen to their Damn Rough Night EP which consists of 4 songs that seem like appetizers, leaving you hungry for more pop rock goodness. You’ll be able to get your fill of Artist Vs Poet in 2010 over the summer as they announced they will be playing all of Warped Tour this summer.

Who? The Downtown Fiction
Why? After being together for barely a year, The Downtown Fiction caught the attention of Photofinish Records and got signed this year. Their light-hearted pop rock music captivates any listener of the genre, and their songs are easily liked. With making good music, having a good label back them, and already having a pretty good fan-base, there’s no doubt about it that you’ll be hearing more about The Downtown Fiction in 2010.

Why?The Friday Night Boys gave something for pop lovers to rave about with the release of their debut album Off The Deep End earlier this year. The band has been constantly touring with the likes of All Time Low, Hey Monday, and more and has been spreading their infectious pop music across the country to any fan willing to listen. Now The Friday Night Boys are finally ready to headline their own tour in early 2010. So if you want in on a band that’s going to be big, check them out on their headlining tour because it won’t be soon before long where they’ll be selling-out bigger venues!

Who? Kelsey And The Chaos
Why? This female-fronted band with sassy tunes seemed to have made quite the impression in 2009. They caught the ear of Tragic Hero Records in which they signed to and were the number 3 most added band on top 40 radio nationwide according to a tweet from one of the band members. They’ve also been on countless tours, released their Shut Up And Deal EP, and are currently writing for their next album. So if you don’t already know who Kelsey And The Chaos are, well now you do, and now you have no excuse not to check them out before they blow up in 2010!

Who? The Ready Set
Why? The band announced their signing to Decaydance records. This is the same record label that is home to bands like Panic! At The Disco, Cobra Starship, The Academy Is…, Hey Monday, and The Cab. Need I say more?

Who? Sing It Loud
Why? If you haven’t already heard about Sing It Loud, you’re already way behind the music curve. They released their debut album Come Around in 2008 and have been touring to promote it ever since then. They’ve been on tours supporting bands like Cobra Starship and Forever The Sickets Kids, but with the release of a new album in 2010, this could be the year that Sing It Loud will be headlining tours instead of opening them.

Who? The Summer Set
Why? Getting people pumped with their high-energy tunes is what The Summer Set specialize in. Barely older than the fans who listen to them, these youngsters have been making a name for themselves by touring to promote their new full-length album Love Like This which came out earlier this year. Now The Summer Set are ready to make 2010 their year with back-to-back touring from being on the AP tour in the spring to playing all of Warped Tour in the summer.

Who? VersaEmerge
Why? 2009 proved to be a big year for VersaEmerge due to their signing to Fueled By Ramen, getting a chance to tour with bands like We The Kings and Boys Like Girls, and having the opportunity to play all of Warped Tour this past summer, and it seems as though VersaEmerge will be continuing this momentum in 2010. They plan on releasing their debut full-length album and have already been confirmed to play all of Warped Tour this upcoming summer. So be sure to check them out if you haven’t already!

Who? We Are The In Crowd
Why? We Are The In Crowd is a band featuring both female and male dual vocals, and they’re ready to make waves in 2010. They signed to Hopeless records earlier this year, and announced they’re going to be playing all of Warped Tour this upcoming summer as well. But before Warped Tour they’ll be touring in January and February of 2010 with Secret Secret Dino Club to spread their powerpop tunes. So if you want to be one step ahead of the curve-tide, then I’d suggest listening to We Are The In Crowd as soon as possible.

Who? You Me At Six
Why? UK rockers You Me At Six signed to Epitaph records earlier this year and have been touring non-stop. They already can headline and sell-out shows in the UK, but now are ready for the transition to become big in the U.S. This year alone, they’ve been working hard to find their niche in America by playing South By Southwest, Warped Tour, and the first ever Fall Ball AP Tour. It’s already been confirmed that they will be playing all of Warped Tour in 2010 so it’s just a matter of time until the band gets the recognition they deserve.
