SUR Just Signed Featured Band: Call The Cops

Photobucket

BIO: Call The Cops have been making people dance with their electro-pop style since 2008. Earlier this year the band, hailing from California, signed up for a contest in which they won thanks to their dedicated fans. The prize of the contest ended up being a record deal with MySpace Records. Now the band is ready to make people dance across the country with their music!

SIGNED TO: Myspace Records

INTERVIEW:

So how’d you get hooked up with MySpace Records?

We actually found the Rock The Space Contest browsing through Myspace and decided to sign up. To be honest we thought we were clicking on a banner for a teeth-whitening product. Turned out we got a record deal.

What was the first thing you did after you inked the deal?

Smile… nothing to exciting. We were on tour when we found out, so we just continued making our way through New Mexico. We did all call our loved ones.

What do you think you guys did that helped you get to the point where you’re at now?

I think tons of hard work and our fans. We have such amazing fans, there support has really helped get us to this point.

How do you think life will change as a signed band versus being an unsigned band?

I think a lot of people are under the impression that when you sign a deal life drastically changes. For the most part our routine as a band has stayed the same. Don’t get me wrong its a big step forward, but we are still just five guys playing shows and writing songs.

How would you describe your music for people who have never heard you before?

Electro Pop Punk, but you should hear it for yourself.

So what’s next for you guys?

Writing and recording songs for our first full length record. Then off on tour to enjoy the many rest stops and drive thrus America has to offer.

Can you give me one straight up random fact about each member of the band?

Jason (bass) works at Best Buy, he is part of the geek squad

Justin (vocals) is afraid of flying and math

Billy (drums) is the first person to end, the never ending pasta at olive garden

Stew (guitar) Lived on our tour bus year round

Will (vocals/guitar) is a nationally ranked halo player
