T.G.I.F. Featured Band: The Almost

How did the band come together?
We were all from florida at the time, and we met either because we were friends, or friends of friends.  That’s the short answer to it.  Aaron had been friends with our previous drummer Kenny at the time, and I had been long time friends with our guitarist Jay.  
 
How’d you come up with your name?
Aaron and his wife jamie came up with it back in the day.  
 
What bands/artists are you influenced by?
I love the new Kings of Leon record.  I also am into oldies!  Motown is wonderful.  I love ryan adams.  And the Who.

How would you describe your music for people who have never heard it before?
It’s hard to put a tag on it, but I think it has a little bit of everything for everyone.  Very generally you could call us alternative rock, but we all know that doesn’t describe us well! 

What makes your band different from all the other ones out there?
We are outspoken christians in a secular market, and we still are received well, which is blessing right there.  That would be the one thing that sets us apart from other bands in rock.
