SUR Just Signed Featured Band: Life On Repeat

Photobucket

BIO: After repetitive member changes, Life On Repeat finalized their line-up and their new name (they were previously known as Amen The Animal). The band has worked hard to create a name for themselves in the music scene by constantly touring and creating solid pop rock tunes that not only sound good but translate well live. It was obvious that their hardwork payed off when they were offered a deal from Equal Vision Records, and now the band will be heading into the studio with Brian McTernan to record their first Equal Vision release. Be on the look out for their new EP to release sometime this fall!

INTERVIEWS:

All questions answered by David Walker, drummer for Life On Repeat

So how’d you guys get hooked up with Equal Vision Records?

It all started when our manager Steve Taylor got in touch with them directly. We began to send them samples of our work and about five or six months later Equal Vision offered us a deal.

Did you get any other label offers, and if so, what made you choose Equal Vision?

There has been a few labels that more or less showed interest in the band, but before we started shopping to labels we were set on getting a record deal that will help better launch our career.

What was the first thing you did once you inked the deal?

We played a show directly after signing with EVR. We couldn’t be happier; we feel that we are in good hands right now.

Do you have any expectations for being a signed band compared to being an unsigned band?

Collectively, we know that being signed doesn’t mean you can let your “unsigned” band work ethic go to waste. If we have learned anything from the music industry it is to not expect anything! We are confident we are dealing with a hard working label and we couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds.

What is something you want to accomplish with your band?

Life On Repeat as a band simply wants to put out well written records, tour extremely hard, and meet anyone who is willing to listen and appreciate how hard we have worked at this over the years.

How would you describe your music for people who haven’t heard it before?

Our music is unique in the way that there are really no boundaries. Some tracks will contain very pop orientated parts, as to where some tracks we might sound “nu metal” as many people have said.

You guys changed your name from Amen The Animal to Life On Repeat, so how did you guys come up with your new name?

The name came from the idea of Deja Vu. Do you ever have those experiences or situations where you feel as if you remember it perfectly from a previous time? It’s almost like your life is on repeat. So, we arrived at Life On Repeat and the rest will be history.

Can you give SUR readers a peak into the not-so-distant future of Life On Repeat?

We enter the studio with veteran producer Brian Mcternan in August. Look out for our first Equal Vision release this fall!

Can you give me one Straight Up Random fact about each member of the band?

Andrew says “dude” at least once every time he opens his mouth. Devon never involves himself with inside jokes inside the band, but once we have forgotten about them will bring them back and show us how annoying they were. Zach, can’t make a yes or no decision to save his life. Patrick dropped out of University of South Carolina to played for the band full time in hopes of making something of our music. Last but least, my name is David Walker and I am currently on a hip hop kick.

Any last words for the readers of Straight Up Random?

We have a lot coming your way very soon! All you readers need to stay posted on Life On Repeat! We simply want to be your favorite band, is that too much to ask?
